THE WATERS OF THE SOUL

Interfaith Contemplative Retreat

With Carl McColman, MA and Phil Foster, MDiv, LPC

This weekend gathering combines meditation, silence, prayer, storytelling, poetry, conversation, personal and group reflection to create a loving vessel in which we can support our individual and collective spiritual journeys. We live in a time of tremendous opportunity and planetary transformation. Great riches and abundance are available, while increasing numbers of us struggle with profound questions of meaning and purpose; we have more and we often feel more empty.  How do we honor the traditional and be open to change spiritually? How do we create spiritual fulfillment in life, and anchor our natural ecstasy in creating real, lasting, sustainable community? How are we spiritual beings in the Age of the Weaving of the Traditions?  How does the Unitive Vision of the contemplative life and mystic offer hope in our fractured world?  How can coming together from various faith traditions to practice spiritual disciplines together promote individual peace and collective harmony?

Join us for this circle and:

  • Honor our ancestors and our spiritual past as a springboard to creating an empowered and prosperous future
  • Celebrate diversity both in our communities and within our own souls
  • Access Divine Wisdom to accelerate our ability to live by the light of intuitive knowledge and confident purpose
  • Gain clarity about your personal spiritual direction and practice
  • Meet new friends, deepen existing relationships, and strengthen your ties to the greater tribe of contemplatives, visionaries and healers
  • Enjoy a weekend of silence, laughter, enlightenment, renewal and fun!

Carl McColman is the author of a number of books on spirituality, scholar, and workshop facilitator.  He was the founder of the Brigid’s Well Celtic Community and is currently a lay Cistercian.  As of April, 2009, Carl continues to complete his book on Christian Mysticism.   Phil Foster is a psychotherapist, an ordained Disciples of Christ minister, a Fellow of the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia, and a  student/teacher of indigenous spirituality.  Both Carl and Phil are walkers in the “world between the worlds” where they engage in both traditional, Western forms of religious spirituality (Carl with Catholicism, Phil with the Disciples of Christ) and the alternative arena of Earth-based and healing communities.

The gathering costs per person vary from retreat to retreat. Scholarships are available.  We welcome retreat sponsorship.  Please feel free to dialogue with us about bringing Waters of the Soul to your community.   To register, or if you have further questions, contact us at: Carl & Phil, PO Box 1146, Clarkston, GA 30021 or mccolman@anamchara.com.
