The retreat was a very deep experience for me. The space that Phil and Carl held felt safe; it felt ok to be open with myself, and with others. I loved the weaving together of storytelling, sharing, silence, and ceremony. It truly was a"retreat" - I felt like the group created this little bubble of safe space, totally apart from everyday life and yet preparing us to better walk in everyday life. It was wonderful to meet and connect with the others in the circle - such genuine, caring individuals.

I know this may sound a bit over-the-top, but, I count my experience as a participant in the "Waters of the Soul" retreat as one of the great spiritual exercises of my life.  It was everything that I needed it to be, and so much more.  I found there peace and comfort, courage and wisdom.  More importantly, while there I nurtured the practice that enabled me to maintain the retreat experience in my everyday life.  Today, it is exceptionally difficult to find the time, the place, and the guidance that one needs in order to explore the great depths of soul and spirit.  Yet, in a truly unique and powerful way, Phil and Carl are able to act as guardians of sacred space and guides in a sacred journey.  They are masters at facilitating spiritual encounters.  As evidence of this, the tremendous diversity of the participants was engaged and utilized, but, an atmosphere of support and unity within the group was carefully fostered.  We met at the level of soul and shared in ways that were transformative and healing.  For me, the experience was both enriching and restorative.   As if with living waters, I drank deeply and found my thirst as sweet as the drink.
