This course is graded on the completion of assigned tasks, student participation and the instructor’s assessment of the student’s growth as a counselor/therapist.  Please refer to the “Supervisee Informed Consent” document.

Required reference: Psychiatry by David A. Tombs (Williams and Wilkins, publishers).

Course Requirements

1. Execute the Informed Consent prior to beginning supervision.

2. Participate in both group and any individual/dyad supervision sessions.

3. Not miss more than 2 scheduled sessions (missing 2 sessions results in an “Incomplete”  grade for the semester).

4. Minimum 4 case presentations in group supervision during the semester.

5. Keep an active journal (re: no less than 2 entries concerning clinical issues per week) and share journal entries during each session.  Failure to bring your journal to sessions will result in an “incomplete” for that session.  2 such “incomplete” sessions will result in an “Incomplete” for the semester.

6. Complete a book review (not a formal book report) from the Suggested Reading List (or as approved by the instructor).

7. Demonstrate competencies in the following areas:

8. Review of Code of Ethics (State of Georgia and/or AMHCA)

9. An individual, evaluation session at the end of the semester

10. Individual sessions as requested by the instructor

11. Additional assignments as determined by the instructor
